Infrared Thermometer

IR Thermometer Calibration

  • Infrared (IR) thermometers are used to measure temperatures of surfaces         without making contact. Many IR thermometers are equipped with a laser         sight that allows the user to “point and shoot” to get readings from safe         distances. These instruments are often used when personnel need to         spot-measure temperatures of piping, machinery, bearings, furnaces,         engines, or chemical reactors.

  • As versatile as infrared (IR) thermometers are, calibrating them can be a         challenge. In order to calibrate them, you need to use a special apparatus in a         controlled environment as well as a black body source and an accurate way of         measuring the reference temperature of the black body source.

  • At PCS, we meet the challenges of IR thermometer calibration. We have your         needs covered and our IR thermometer calibration services are highly valued         by our customers.
